Tim, I resemble your remarks (the guy talking - I assume it's you). I love coffee, as you know, but I can't stand the latest roasting trend, as you perfectly describe it: "The latte was decent even if the espresso was under-roasted and tasted green" (except I wouldn't be as charitable as your predicate - "was decent"). I hate this stuff, and it now seems to be everywhere. My question for you is: WHY? What changed? Taste of the proletariat, obviously, but...why? I'd have more pity on these baristas, though.
